Shabbas is a time for recognizing Hashem’s kingship. Shabbas also is a taste of Olam Haba (the World to Come). The purpose of the day is to prepare us for Olam Haba.
When we sit at the table and rejoice, we should be thinking about the World to Come. The time will come when the World to Come will be forever and ever, and happiness will never end. Olam Haba means nothing but Hashem, and that’s our great happiness. — Asking Hashem
